What is a School Counselor?
I am a (minimum Master's level) certified, trained, and caring professional who works with all students, parents, teachers, staff and the community, in order for every student to achieve academic and social success.

Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
That doesn't mean your counselor will wave a magic wand and the problem will go away. But it does mean he or she will help you cope with it. Coping is an important word to know. Sometimes, children and grown-ups have difficult problems. Coping means that someone is trying to handle these problems and make things better.

Coffee with the Counselor
I feel great honor to have organize Coffee with the Counselor Sessions. This is a GREAT opportunity for me to connect with parents in our school community in a positive and proactive way, especially having to enjoy coffee in the midst of others! These sessions are very interactive where parents were able to share and learn from each other. We also get to share topics that we would like to discuss in the future, these included Bullying, Balanced use of internet, Abuse, Transitions, Single parenting, Substance use, sex education and growing up among others. These forms are not only to provide parents with information and resources, but we aim to help parents develop a support system.
